Rt. B Cafe rallies past CARSTAR; Central Realty knocks off QuinlanAgency.com
CARSTAR did everything in its power to beat Rt. B Cafe Wednesday night in Cal Ripken Major.
Up until the fifth inning, CARSTAR held a 6-5 lead against Rt. B Cafe. However, in the top half of the fifth, everything seemed to come unraveled for CARSTAR as Rt. B Cafe rallied back with four runs for a 9-6 victory.
Of course if you thought that game was wild, Central Realty knocked off QuinlanAgency.com-the league leader-in a game that came down to the final at bat for a 4-3 victory.
Rt. B Cafe, improving to 6-4 on the season, led CARSTAR 4-2 after 2 1/2 but then surrendered four runs in the bottom half of the third to trail 6-4. However, Rt. B Cafe was just getting started while tacking on one run in the fourth to cut the lead to one at 6-5. Meanwhile, after holding CARSTAR scoreless in its half of the fourth, Rt. B Cafe came back and plated four more runs in the fifth for the come from behind victory.
Bodie White was the pitcher of record in the game for Rt. B Cafe by pitching three innings in relief of starter Aden Rapp. Baylor Jackson took the loss for CARSTAR, who dropped to 5-6.
Rapp pitched the first-two innings and gave up four runs on one hit and six walks while striking out four batters. White then came in and pitched three innings and allowed two runs on two hits while striking out six batters.
For CARSTAR, Payton Oeth pitched 3 2/3 innings and surrendered five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out nine batters. Jackson then came in and pitched 1/3 inning and yielded three runs on one hit and three walks. Charles Alexander and Darrin Leonard closed out the game in relief.
Rt. B Cafe also finished the game with six hits, with Bodie White going 2-for-4 with a single and a double. Lane Hackman also had two singles and two RBIs while Alex Ewings added one double and one RBI, Aden Rapp with one single and Blaine Begemann and Aiden Meyers each with one RBI.
For CARSTAR, Payton Oeth went 2-for-2 with two home runs and five RBIs. Darrin Leonard had the only other hit with a single and one RBI.
In the nightcap, Central Realty jumped all over QA.com early with three runs in the top half of the first.
However, after QA.com rallied back with two runs in the bottom half of the second to cut the lead to one at 3-2, Central Realty tacked on another run in the top half of the third to make it 4-2. QA.com plated another run in the bottom half of the third to pull to within one again at 4-3 but would get no closer while failing to score for the rest of the game.
Clayton Schuster picked up the win on the mound for Central Realty, 6-4, while Lucas Schuster took the loss for QuinlanAgency.com, who dropped to 8-2. Clayton Schuster pitched the first-three innings and struck out five batters while giving up three runs on five hits. Jailyn Patel then came in and pitched three innings in relief and struck out six batters.
For QA.com, Lucas Schuster pitched 2 1/3 innings and gave up three runs on two hits and one walk while striking out six batters. Logan Conz then came in and pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed one hit while striking out three batters. Then, to finish the game, Shawn Beach-Reasons pitched 2 1/3 innings and issued one run on three walks while striking out four batters.
Gabe Romero-Shelton singled and drove in one run to lead all hitters for Central Realty while Grayson Esser and Cash Leonard added one single.
For QA.com, which had five hits in the game, Chase Chamberlain went 2-for-3 with a single and a double. Logan Conz also had two singles while Shawn Beach-Reasons added one single and one RBI.
