Glasgow River Rats pick up sweep against Creations by Diana in 8U

Glasgow River Rats 8U softball team picked up a pair of wins last Thursday in Babe Ruth softball at Lions park by beating Creations by Diana 10-0 and 10-3.

In the first game, Glasgow River Rats scored in every inning against Creations by Diana and sent one run across in the first, five again in the second and four in the third.

Jaynie Foster led the hitting attack in the game for Glasgow River Rats with two singles, one double and four RBIs.

Katie Strodtman finished the game with two singles, one double and two RBIs while Emma Korte had three singles and three RBIs, Emma Westhues and Paisley Locke each with three singles, Kynleigh Stricker and Kinzie Beeler with two singles each and Meredith Wood with one single and one RBI.

For Creations by Diana, Mikayla Bohlken, Odette Hutchison and Hailey Doty each had one single.

In the second game, Glasgow River Rats again jumped out to an early lead with one run in the first and four again in the second to go up 5-0. Meanwhile, after Creations by Diana sent two runs across in the bottom half of the second, Glasgow River Rats came back and exploded for five runs in the third to extend the lead to 10-2. Creations by Diana then scored another run in the bottom half of the third to end the scoring.

Katie Strodtman had one single, one double, one triple and five RBIs to lead all hitters for Glasgow River Rats, who improved to 3-0-1 on the season. Emma Westhues, Kinzie Beeler and Jaynie Foster finished the game with two singles and one RBI each while Kynleigh Stricker added two singles, Paisley Locke with one single and one RBI and Kynlee Gerlach, Emma Korte and Meredith Wood each with one single.

For Creations by Diana, who dropped to 0-2-1 overall, Mikayla Bohlken and Ella Viertel each had two singles and one RBI. Alana Butner also finished the game with two singles while Paisley Seeley added one single and one RBI and Odette Hutchison, Zoey Little and Bella Hicks with one single apiece.
