Four Boonville runners compete in Russellville Summer Series
Four members of the Boonville Lady Pirates track team got a little bit of their season back last Thursday while competing in the Russellville High School Summer Series.
With two more meets scheduled on July 17 and 24, Boonville girls track coach Melissa Baker said she thought the girls did well for not really practicing consistently since March.
“I had a group of girls that were looking to run in a meet this summer and I found out that Russellville was putting on three meets,”Baker said. “There was some outstanding competition at Russellville, where you had some kids that will be competing in college and kids you will be seeing at state cross-country and track. We are looking forward to going back over the next two weeks.”
With 54 boy’s teams and 53 girl’s teams competing in the meet, the Lady Pirates definitely held their own with four second place finishes.
