Boonville Chamber of Commerce board member, Denise Solomon, presents a check to Mike Watts and the Cooper County Baseball Association last Friday for funds raised during the 1860s baseball game, which the Boonville Chamber of Commerce hosted to kick off the baseball season in Cal Ripken Minor and Major on May 1. Cooper County Baseball Association President Michael Watts said the money will go towards travel expenses for players and coaches when teams travel out of state. The 1860s game was played on May 1 between the St. Louis Brown Stockings and the Topeka Westerns at Twillman field in Harley Park. W-K Family of Dealerships with the help of the Boonville Pirate Booster Club provided burgers and hot dogs to raise additional funds for CoCoBA.
