Boonville Chamber to hold virtual candidate forum

The Boonville Chamber of Commerce will hold a candidate forum 7 p.m. July 21 from the Boonville City Council chambers. Only the candidates for the various county and state races will be allowed in the chambers and the forum will be streamed online via the city’s YouTube page and recorded for those unable to watch the live stream.

Invitations are being sent to candidates for the following races: District 4 U.S. Representative, District 19 State Senator, Districts 47, 48 and 50 State Representative, Cooper County Eastern District Commissioner, Western District Commissioner, Assessor, Coroner, Public Administrator and Sheriff.

Candidates running unopposed will make brief introductions and statements and may participate in the question and answer portion if questions are directed to them. Those who would like to submit questions to candidates can do so by emailing The chamber asks you put “Meet the Candidates” in the subject line.

Emails should include to whom the question is addressed, the content of the question, and your name. Questions construed to be personal attacks on any candidate will not be used or if a person does not identify themselves in the question email. Questions may be edited for content.
