Boonville man killed in crash
A Boonville man was killed in Sunday afternoon crash on Missouri HIghway 87 about one-quarter mile south of Eleventh Street.
James B. Brandl, 59, was ejected at about 1:45 p.m. from the 2012 Harley Davidson Motorcycle he was driving by a 2013 Ford Flex that was attempting to pass, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
The Flex, driven by Karen L. Gately, 66, also of Boonville, struck the motorcyle. Brandl was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin were notified.
Both Brandl and Gately were wearing safety devices, the report stated. This is the sixth fatality for Troop F in June and 26th for 2020. Troopers were assisted by the Boonville Police Department and Cooper County Sheriff’s Department.
