All of our success at David Barton comes from the dedication of all of our staff. I have been at David Barton for seven years and I have seen a lot of laughing, playing, smiling, and also crying. I have seen firsthand how much our staff cares for our students. When we see a struggling student, we feel obligated to find a way to help this one student succeed. When you see a teacher crying because they are trying to find the right strategy to help a student, you know they are here for the students. People say success starts with leadership, but at David Barton, the David Barton Team is the reason for our success.” Assistant Principal Laurie Painter remarked, ”

Assistant Principal Laurie Painter remarked, ”We are so proud of our students and our staff. I believe that our students work extremely hard and are dedicated to improving. We celebrate when students increase their monthly MAP test prep. Other facts to note- the PRiME score is calculated using MAP and MPI, which are explained below:

MAP - the Missouri Assessment Program is used to measure how well students acquire the skills and knowledge described in (MLS) (DESE, 2021). MAP tests are administered in Grades 3-8 and as end-of-course (EOC) assessments in high school.

MAP Performance Index (MPI) Standards - the MPI is calculated by multiplying the percent of students in each achievement level by a point value set by DESE to produce a single score. Scores range from 100-500.
