USDA plans quarterly hogs survey
The U.S. Department of Agriculture National Agricultural Statistics Service is contacting producers for the September Hogs and Pigs Survey.
The survey conducted each quarter provides comprehensive information on market hot and breeding stock inventories, along with pig crop and farrowing intentions, according to a news release.
NASS will mail questionnaires to selected producers this month. Farmers can reply via mail, but are encouraged to reply online via the Ag Counts website. NASS representatives will contact those who have not responded to arrange telephone interviews to complete the survey.
The quarterly report publishes Sept. 24 and will be available online.
