Glasgow River Rats 8U softball team recorded the sweep against State Farm-Fayette Thursday night at Lions park, winning by the scores of 7-4 and 11-1.


In the first game, Glasgow River Rats jumped on top to stay by plating three runs in the first and two in each of the second and fourth innings of play.


State Farm-Fayette, meanwhile, scored one run in the first and three again in the third.


Jaynie Foster had three hits in the game for Glasgow River Rats with two singles, one double and two RBIs. Emma Korte finished the game with two singles and two RBIs while Katie Strodtman added one home run and one RBI.


For State Farm-Fayette, Brylee Eubanks had two singles and drove in one run.


In the second game, Glasgow River Rats plated two runs in the first, four again in the second and five in the third to lead State Farm-Fayette 11-0.


Meanwhile, in the top half of the fourth, State Farm-Fayette scored one run.


Emma Korte led the hitting attack in the game for Glasgow River Rats with one single, two doubles and three RBIs. Jaynie Foster finished the game with three singles and two RBIs while Katie Strodtman added one single, one triple and three RBIs and Kinleigh Stricker, Kynlee Gerlach and Kara Monnig each with one single.


For State Farm-Fayette, Brylee Eubanks had two singles.
