A-Bow-K continued its winning ways last Friday in Babe Ruth 12U softball by picking up a sweep against Show-Me State Home Inspections by the scores of 17-5 and 15-5.


In the first game, A-Bow-K wasted little time getting out in front of Show-Me State Home Inspections by exploding for 11 runs in the first and six again in the second.


Show-Me State Home Inspections, meanwhile, scored two runs in the top half of the second and three again in the third.


Hailey Platt picked up the win in the circle for A-Bow-K while Brooklyn Brown took the loss for Show-Me State Home Inspections. Platt pitched 2 2/3 innings and gave up five runs on nine walks while striking out eight batters. Mylie Edwards gave up no runs, no hits and no walks in 1/3 inning in relief for A-Bow-K.


As for Show-Me State Home Inspections, Brown pitched two innings and surrendered 17 runs on seven hits and 11 walks while striking out two batters.


A-Bow-K also out-hit Show-Me State Home Inspections 7-0, with Mabry Caton going 3-for-3 with three singles. Hailey Platt finished the game with two singles and three RBIs while Mylie Edwards and Hillary James added one single each.


In the nightcap, A-Bow-K (3-1) again scored early and often by exploding for seven runs in the second, three again in the third and five in the fourth to win by the mercy rule.


As for Show-Me State Home Inspections, they again put up five runs with four in the third and one again in the fourth.


Mylie Edwards was the winning pitcher in the game for A-Bow-K while Alycia Felgar took the loss for Show-Me State Home Inspections. Edwards pitched the first-two innings and struck out four batters while giving up two hits. Mabry Caton then came in and pitched two innings in relief and allowed five runs on two hits and three walks while striking out two batters.


For Show-Me State Home Inspections, Felgar pitched all four innings and gave up 15 runs on 10 hits and one walk.


A-Bow-K also had 10 hits in the game, with Hailey Platt going 2-for-2 with a single, home run and four RBIs. Bella Imhoff finished the game with two singles while Mylie Edwards added one triple and two RBIs, Mabry Caton, Isabel Alvizo, Lilli Moore and Lauren Thompson each with one single and one RBI and Cecelia Gaddis with one single.


For Show-Me State Home Inspections, who dropped to 0-2, Alycia Felgar had a single, double and two RBIs while Brooklyn Brown and Jentry Fenton added one single each.
