The Ss. Peter & Paul volleyball team continued its winning ways Wednesday night by beating Lange Middle School in straight sets 25-13 and 25-13.
While the win improved the Lady Warriors record to 14-2-1 on the season, head coach Dina Herzog said the girls played well against a much larger school. “We forced some errors from Lange by serving over and in,” Herzog said. “We received well and although our offense wasn’t outstanding, we scored. This group needs to play especially well to be ready for Gentry on Monday on our eighth grade night.”
Kylee Turner led the Lady Warriors with 14 assists along with two aces and one kill. Addy Nichols finished the match with four aces, three kills and one assist while Addie Hubach added six kills and one ace, Alison Eichelberger four aces, one assist and one dig, Bridgette Lutz with two aces and two kills, Allison Drummond two aces and one kill and Ava Esser with two kills.
In the B-team match, Ss. Peter & Paul defeated Lange in three sets 25-14, 23-25 and 15-12.
Herzog said this team really works hard. “They are beating teams by passing, setting and hitting,” Herzog said. “The pass is on point, the set is up and the hit is over and in. Nothing fancy. They are improving with each game as we head into Saturday’s tournament.”
Bella Imhoff finished the match with five aces, three kills and three digs for Ss. Peter & Paul. Randi Cottrell had seven aces and four assists while Sydney Nowlin added three assists, two aces, two kills and one dig, Reagan Wilson three aces, one assist, one kill and one dig, Mabry Caton three kills and one dig, Lauren Thompson four aces, Riley Wilson three kills and Ellise Kirchner with one ace and one assist.
