The Ss. Peter & Paul girls eighth grade volleyball team continued its winning ways on Wednesday by beating Oakland in two straight sets 25-4 and 25-14.
While the Lady Warriors improved to 8-0-1 on the season, head coach Dina Herzog said the girls served very well. “Oakland had trouble receiving and running a offense,” Herzog said. “I was proud of how we played at our level. It could’ve been a much slower paced game, but the girls played to win.”
Allison Drummond led Ss. Peter & Paul with 11 aces along with three digs and one kill. Kylee Turner finished the match with seven assists and six aces while Addy Nichols added four kills, three blocks and one assist, Addie Hubach with three aces and two kills, Ava Esser with two kills, Bridgette Lutz with one assist and one kill and Bailey Atkinson with one dig.
In the B-team game, Oakland defeated Ss. Peter & Paul in straight sets 25-19 and 25-16.
Herzog said the girls are playing better as a team. “We are so close to winning a game and putting everything together,” Herzog said. “Keep in mind they are a young, eager and hard working group. We keep improving each game and that’s what we want to see.”
