The Bunceton Lady Dragons volleyball team fell in two straight sets Thursday night against Hallsville 16-25 and 4-25.
Bunceton coach Doug Gilliam said the girls played really well in the first set. Gilliam said it was 15-15 and then Hallsville shut his team down. The second set the girls just couldn’t get going, he said.
Cara Bishop had four service points, four assists, three digs, one block and one kill for the Lady Dragons.
Ashlyn Twenter finished the match with four blocks, three service points, two digs, two assists and one kill, while Taylyn Heilman had two digs, two service points, one block and one assist, Laney Heilman and Bella Veca each with two service points and one dig and Madelyn Myers with one dig.
Hallsville also won the JV match 25-13 and 25-2.
The Lady Dragons also fell in two straight sets Tuesday against Otterville by the scores of 17-25 and 22-25.
Cara Bishop had 11 service points with four aces along with eight attack attempts with two kills. Ashlyn Twenter finished the match with six service points and was 5 of 7 on attack attempts, while Madelyn Myers had seven service points and was 7 of 8 on attack attempts, followed by Laney Heilman with six service points and 5 of 7 on attack attempts, Taylyn Heilman six service points with one ace and 5 of 9 on attack attempts, Bella Veca three service points with one ace and 3 of 9 on attack attempt and Lyrik Tracy two service points and 2 of 4 on attack attempts.
Otterville also won the JV match 25-11 and 25-6.
Alyssa Welch had five service points with one ace for Bunceton. Savanna Tracy finished the match with four service points with one ace while Kylee Myers added four service points, Madison Brown, Emily Breece and Kaelyn Crews each with three service points and Hailey Milne and Lyrik Tracy with two service points apiece.
In the season opener on August 30th against La Monte, Bunceton fell in two straight sets 14-25 and 17-25.
Cara Bishop had two service points with one ace and one kill on 5 of 8 attack attempts. Ashlyn Twenter had two service points with two aces while Laney Heilman added one service point.
In the JV match, Bunceton fell in three sets against La Monte 25-19, 18-25 and 4-15.
Kaelyn Crews had three service points with two aces and one kill for Bunceton. Savanna Tracy and Kylee Myers each had two service points with two aces while Alyssa Welch and Lyrik Tracy added one service point and one ace.
