The Boonville Lady Pirates volleyball team fell in two sets Thursday night on the road against the California Pintos, losing 11-25 and 10-25.
Boonville Lady Pirates volleyball coach Hannah Ashley said there was confidence on the court for the young team, which surprised California. “California had strong and experienced hitters against the young team,” Ashley said.
Sophi Waibel led Boonville with seven attack attempts with four kills along with two blocks and two digs. Nora Morris finished the match with eight attack attempts with two kills, one ace, one block and one dig while Kennedy Renfrow added five digs, two attack attempts and one ace, Abby Reisinger eight assists and one kill, Madison Smith five attack attempts with two kills and two blocks, Lily Terrell four attack attempts and two digs, Hope Mesik three digs, one attack attempt and one assist, Carson Dee two attack attempts and two digs and Lillian Rohrbach two attack attempts and one dig.
California also won the JV match 8-25 and 8-25.
Ava Parman had four attack attempts, one kill, two digs and one ace to lead Boonville.
Abby Fuemmeler finished the match with four assists and one dig while Katelyn Smith added two blocks, one dig, one attack attempt and one kill, Genae Hodge two attack attempts and one kill, Claire Witting three digs, Payton Luscombe two kills and Molly Schuster with one dig.
