Lady River Rats out of Glasgow and Show-Me State Home Inspections were both opportunistic to say the least Sunday night in Babe Ruth 12U softball at Rolling Hills park.
In the opening game, the Lady River Rats defeated Show-Me State Home Inspections 26-13 despite being out-hit 8-0. Meanwhile, in the nightcap, Show-Me State Home Inspections won 17-2 by out-hitting Lady River Rats 5-0.
Of course the first game was a lot closer than the final score as Lady River Rats and Show-Me State Home Inspections were tied at 12-all after three. However in the fourth inning, Lady River Rats outscored Show-Me State Home Inspections 14-1 to garner the victory.
Kaylyn Campbell picked up the win in the circle for Lady River Rats while Brooklyn Brown took the loss for Show-Me State Home Inspections.
As for the hitting in the game for Show-Me State Home Inspections, Mylie Edwards and Lexi Lane each had two singles to lead all hitters. Brooklyn Brown, Rowan Stock, Layney Burkhart and Tatum Hoover each had one hit while Adilynn Mathis drove in one run.
Lady River Rats had no hits in the game.
In the second game, Show-Me State Home Inspections led Lady River Rats 4-1 after one until the third inning. In that inning, Show-Me State Home Inspections outscored Lady River Rats 13-1 to win by the mercy rule.
Le’Asia Bruce was the winning pitcher in the game for Show-Me State Home Inspections while Brooklyn Morris took the loss for Lady River Rats.
Show-Me State Home Inspections also out-hit Lady River Rats 5-0, with Le’Asia Bruce going 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBIs.
Mylie Edwards finished the game with one triple and one RBI while Lexi Lane added one triple. Brooklyn Brown also had one single.
