The New Franklin boys and girls middle school track teams had the perfect ending in the annual Glasgow Relays on Thursday.
With a total of seven place finishers in the relays, head coach Morgan Vetter said the Bulldogs also had “many” people set new personal records and had “many” well deserved medals. “I’m very proud of this groups dedication, consistency and drive they had throughout the season,” Vetter said. “I wish the eighth graders the best with their high school endeavors and can’t wait to see this seven grade group again next season.”
Vetter said the New Franklin girls finished eighth overall with 39 points while the boys finished in 10th place with 17 points.
As for the place finishers for New Franklin, Addy Salmon finished second in the high jump with a height of 4’-5”, as did Kelsi Fair in the shot put with a toss of 32’-6”, the girls x 4 x 400 meter relay team of Salmon, Faith Painter, Elaina Henderson and Carly Dorson in a time of 4:55.49 and Jacob Marshall in the 1600 meter run in 5:44.23.
Marshall also took third in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:37.85, as did the girls 4 x 100 meter relay team of Ruby Simpson, Addy Salmon, Elaina Henderson and Faith Painter in 1:00.04. Meanwhile, in the 800 meter run and placing fourth in a time of 2:57.57 was Carly Dorson.
