The Ss. Peter & Paul boys seventh grade basketball team closed out the season Friday night with a 50-19 loss against Stover in the Sedalia Sacred Heart Tournament.
The Warriors, who finished the season at 4-10 overall, trailed Stover 18-2 after one, 27-11 at the half and 40-14 after three quarters of play. Meanwhile, in the fourth period, Stover outscored Ss. Peter & Paul 10-5.
Ss. Peter & Paul coach Evan Oswald said the boys didn’t finish the season on a winning note, however, they did finish the season the right way. “We played extremely hard until the final buzzer,” Oswald said. “I am proud of this group for the way the battled all year. We played bigger teams all year, but I truly believe we got better. The teams we have played this year, will prepare us for next season.”
Rhodes Leonard had the high game for Ss. Peter & Paul with seven points. Dalton Johnson and Henry Rohrbach finished the game with three points each while Levi Jeffries, Eli Stock and Ben Lutz added two points each.
