Signups in Midget, Minor and Major Leagues will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 16-17 at the BHS Commons.
Cooper County Baseball Association President Michael Watts said signups on Saturday, Feb. 16th will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. while signups on Sunday, Feb. 17th will take place from 1-4 p.m.
Watts said all children 12 years and under that are interested in participating in summer baseball are required to re-register for play each year. “This year we are highly encouraging and recommending all individuals to register their child with our online option for those of you not selling the fundraiser only and prepared to pay by credit card only,” Watts said. “Online registration will be allowed to begin on Monday, Feb. 4th. If you plan on participating in our fundraiser or pay in other means then you will be required to show up at our signups at the BHS Commons.”
Watts said requirements are $25 for registration dues, participating in the league fundraiser, selling cookie dough/braided bread or buyout option of $50 and providing a copy of your child’s birth certificate if not already on file. He said all children are encouraged to signup and will be placed on a team regardless of their playing experience.
Also, parents can follow the COCOBA at or LittleLeague for valuable information and league updates. The website will provide league history, team notification and player information, schedules, standings, statistics, coaches and parents information, team and sponsor information, along with many other features. The Facebook page will be used for immediate updates such as changes to schedules and last minute notifications.
Watts said anyone interested in managing a league team this year should contact him at 660-537-4769. Applications and contact information can be found on the league website. He said background checks are mandatory for all persons interested in coaching this year and be done on the SIPlay website.
Also, Watts said the standards for allowable bats has changed this year. He said Cal Ripken approved bats must have a USA Baseball Marking on each bat and of 2-5/8” width to be legal for league and/or tournament play beginning this year. No BBCOR bats will be allowed, he said.

Saturday, March 9th, tryouts, all leagues; Midgets at COCOBA Field at 10 a.m.; Minors at 1 p.m.; and Majors at 3 p.m. Rainout schedule will be the following weekend.
Monday, March 25th, Practices officially begin. See team schedules on the website. Fundraiser turn in.
Saturday, April 27th, Preseason Jamboree for Major/Minor and Midget Leagues.
Approximately 28th, Fundraiser Pick up.
Saturday, May 4, Opening day for Minor and Major Leagues.
Monday, May 6, Opening day for Midget League.
Saturday, May 18, Minor/Midget League Carwash at C&R Market.
Saturday, June 8, Major/Midget League Carwash at C&R Market.
All-Star election and participation will begin once the regular season has completed. All players elected are expected to be available completely.
