The Ss. Peter & Paul boys eighth grade basketball team outscored OLLIS 7-0 in the first quarter and never looked back for a 32-24 win Friday night in Columbia.
The Warriors, improving to 6-6 on the season, opened the first half with a 15-6 lead against OLLIS but was outscored 18-17 in the second half.
“It felt good to get back on the winning track,” said Ss. Peter & Paul coach Evan Oswald. “They put a little run on us in the second half but I thought our kids handled it fairly well. We have played such tough competition all year long, so we were ready for it. We will look to finish the season this week in the St Andrews Tournament. It would be nice to see these kids play their best games in their final games as a Warrior.”
Colby Caton had 20 points and six rebounds to lead Ss. Peter & Paul. Owen Armentrout finished the game with six points, six rebounds and four assists while Max Eckerle added three points and two rebounds, Carter Rowlett two points and Aaron Vossler with one point and two rebounds.
