The Ss. Peter & Paul girls eighth grade basketball team outscored Lange 26-0 in the first three quarters for a 35-2 win Thursday night in Boonville.
The Lady Warriors, 7-4 on the season, opened the game with a 7-0 run and then outscored Lange 10-0 in the second to lead at the half by a score of 17-0. Meanwhile, after holding a 9-0 advantage in the third quarter to extend the lead to 26-0, Ss. Peter & Paul came back and outscored Lange 9-2 in the fourth to win the game by 33.
Ss. Peter & Paul coach Sarah Ronnfeldt said the girls did a really good job of moving the ball on offense. “We got a lot of great looks down low,” Ronnfeldt said. “Abby Fuemmeler did a good job of driving the lane and creating openings. We were solid on defense all night long. This was a good way to finish out our eighth grades last home game.”
Abby Fuemmeler led all scorers in the game for Ss. Peter & Paul with 18 points along with five steals and four rebounds.
Zoey Lang finished the game with 10 points, five steals, four rebounds and one blocked shot while Katelyn Smith added two points and 11 rebounds, Addie Hubach two points, two rebounds and one steal, Alison Eichelberger also with two points and Madison Smith with one point, 13 rebounds, five steals and two blocked shots.
