The Ss. Peter & Paul girls seventh and eighth grade basketball team picked up two wins at home last week against West Junior, winning by the scores of 41-6 and 31-24, respectively.
In the eighth grade game, Ss. Peter & Paul trailed West Junior 3-1 after first period’s end but outscored the Lady Vikings 30-21 for the rest of the game.
Ss. Peter & Paul coach Sarah Ronnfeldt said the girls eighth grade team did a great job of working together. “We were seeing the court well,” Ronnfeldt said. “When we didn’t rush it we were able to set up a play and work the ball well.”
Abby Fuemmeler had 12 points, four rebounds and one steal to lead the Lady Warriors. Zoey Lang had eight points, 10 rebounds, one steal and one blocked shot while Katelyn Smith added five points, seven rebounds, two steals and two blocked shots, Madison Smith four points, seven rebounds, two steals and one blocked shot, Grace Williams two points and two rebounds and Addie Hubach with two rebounds.
For the seventh grade girls, they dominated West Jr. for the first two quarters while leading 30-0 at the half. Ss. Peter & Paul also won the second half by outscoring the Vikings 11-6.
Ronnfeldt said the girls owned this game from the very beginning. “We out-worked the other team and created turnovers,” Ronnfeldt said. “I was very proud of the team effort.”
Addie Hubach had 10 points, five rebounds and two steals for Ss. Peter & Paul. Addy Nichols tallied six points, 10 rebounds and four steals while Alison Eichelberger chipped in six points, five steals, one rebound and one assist, Carlie Daniel six points, six rebounds and four steals, Kellie Young four points and five rebounds, Kylee Turner four points, four rebounds and one steal, Bridgette Lutz three points, two rebounds and one steal, Allison Drummond with two points, two rebounds and two steals and Ava Esser with two steals and one rebound.
