The LSE Lady Pirates eighth grade volleyball team picked up a big win at home on Monday by beating the Blair Oaks Falcons in three sets 25-17, 17-25 and 15-10.
As for the LSE girls seventh grade volleyball team, they fell in two straight against Blair Oaks 16-25 and 13-25.
LSE coach Jamie Boyd said she was excited to see the elements they learned come together on the court against Blair Oaks. “The girls played well and corrected minor mistakes along the way,” Boyd said. “The seventh grade is coming along and learning the fundamentals well. While it is a learning process, they are adjusting and absorbing new skills. The eighth grade was looking to put together their skills and talents. It was a great opportunity to see that happen as they all worked well and played an important part in this team victory.”
Abby Pulliam led the eighth grade team with five service points along with four attacks and one kill.
Genae Hodge finished the match with three service points with two attacks, two digs and one kill while Ava Parman added five attacks, one service point and one ace, Heather Hall three service points with one attack, Ashlen Homan with two service points with one ace and one kill, Alyssa Gross and Molly Schuster each with one service point and LaShala Korte with one attack.
In the seventh grade match, Cassidy Bishop had four service points with three digs. Aleah Walters finished the match with five service points while Infiniti Lewis added three digs and one service point, Hannah Schueler with two service points and two digs, Audrionnah Donahue and Ana Rand each with one dig and Brenna Hubbard with one service point.
