LSE Lady Pirates volleyball coach Jamie Boyd said the girls had a great learning experience last week in the season opener against the Eldon Mustangs.
While dropping the seventh grade match in two straight 3-25 and 5-25, Boyd said the girls still worked hard throughout the match and look to improve throughout the season.
“While Eldon would take the win, there were some highlight moments for LSE,” Boyd said. “Cassidy Bishop and Audrianna Donahue returned the ball well throughout the game while Adlea Hubbard and Hannah Schueler offered some nice passes and sets. We are looking ahead to our next matches against Versailles and Marshall.”
Eldon also won the B match 15-11.
In the eighth grade match, Boyd said the girls would come up short in the end against Eldon 15-25 and 2-25. The Lady Mustangs also won the B match by aa score of 12-25.
“Some of the bright moments throughout the game were outstanding efforts from Genae Hodge with great serves and Ava Parman with multiple tough serve returns,” Boyd said. “Molly Schuster and Heather Hall offered some good hits early in the game as well. We are looking to work on consistent play and communication on the floor and are excited the season is taking off and ready for the games ahead.”
