The Prairie Home Lady Panthers softball team dropped its second game of the 2018 season last week by losing to the Higbee Tigers 23-2.
The Lady Panthers scored two runs in the bottom half of the third but it was too little too late as Higbee came out and reeled off seven in the first and 16 in the top half of the third to go up 23-0.
Prairie Home coach Tad Shotten said his team had five errors in the first inning alone. “We need to help our pitchers out,” Shotten said. “Our batting is getting better and we are making contact, but Higbee’s defense did a great job and made some good plays to get the outs. The girls played hard but right now we are playing through some nagging injuries. The injury bug has hit us here early in the season.”
Shaye Siegel took the loss in the circle for Prairie Home while Olivia Strobel had the only hit in the game for the Lady Panthers, being a double.
