The Prairie Home Panthers baseball team scored 15 runs in the first-three innings to beat Higbee 15-0 in CCAA action Tuesday night at Prairie Home.
Prairie Home, 1-1 on the season, opened the game with three runs in the bottom half of the first and then sent one run across in the second and 11 again in the third to win by the mercy rule.
Prairie Home coach Trever Huth said his team played well in this game from pitching to hitting to fielding. “I thought we played a complete game for the most part,” Huth said. “We still need to keep working and getting better everyday to improve what we are doing now.”
Blake Petsel picked up the win on the mound for Prairie Home by striking out four batters and walking only two in three innings.
Prairie Home also out-hit Higbee 10-0, with Kassen Lock going 2-for-3 with a single, triple and three RBIs. Clayton Pethan and Mason wells were each 2-for-3 with two singles and two RBIs while Blane Petsel added one double and one RBI, Oliver Lock with one single and one RBI, Blake Petsel and Alex Rhode each with one single and Austin Small and John Fontanna each with one RBI.
