The Boonville 10U All-Stars finished second in the Missouri Babe Ruth State Tournament over the weekend by losing to SEMO South Sluggers in the championship game 11-1.
In the opening game on Thursday against the same SEMO South Sluggers, the Boonville 10 All-Stars fell in a close game by a score of 9-8.
Cayle John took the loss in the circle for Boonville, who led 7-5 after three and 8-6 after fifth before giving up three runs in the bottom half of the sixth to suffer the loss.
Leah Thies and Cayle John each had three hits in the game for Boonville, one of which went for a double. Mabry Caton also doubled while Elizabeth Eichelberger singled.
The second game was a carbon copy of the first game as the SEMO South Sluggers won 12-11 over Boonville on a international tiebreaker.
Emerson Eads took the loss for Boonville by giving up 12 runs on five hits and four walks in four innings. Eads also struck out two batters.
Cayle John finished the game with two hits and one RBI while Mabry Caton and Shelby Munden added one single and one RBI each, Browyn Eubanks one single and Leah Thies, Emerson Eads, Addison Johnson and Grace Poulsen each with one RBI.
In the third game of the tournament, the Boonville 10U All-Stars defeated the Barbie Bashers 12-3.
Although the Barbie Bashers rallied to tie the game at 3-all after two, it was all Boonville after that with four in the third and five again in the fourth.
Emerson Eads was the winning pitcher in the game for Boonville. In three innings, Eads struck out four batters and gave up three runs on five walks while striking out four.
Boonville also out-hit Barbie Bashers 3-0, with Mabry Caton going 1-for-3 with a single and two RBIs. Shelby Munden and Grace Poulsen each had one single.
The Boonville 10U All-Star beat SEMO North All-Stars 5-3.
Emerson Eads picked up the win in the circle for Boonville by striking out seven batters in 4 2/3 innings.
Boonville also had nine hits in the game, with Browyn Eubanks going 2-for-2 with a single and a triple. Mabry Caton had two singles and two RBIs while Leah Thies added two singles and one RBI, Emerson Eads one single and one RBI and Cayle John and Shelby Munden each with one single.
Of course the Boonville 10 All-Stars didn’t stop there. In the first game on  Sunday, Boonville defeated Sikeston 10-2.
Emerson Eads recorded 10 strikeouts in four innings for the Boonville 10U All-Stars.
Addison Johnson finished the game with one single and two RBIs while Cayle John and Elizabeth Eichelberger added one single each. Browyn Eubanks and Hailey Hoff each had one RBI.
In the championship game, the SEMO South Sluggers led from start to finish against Boonville while reeling off five unanswered runs in the first three innings. Meanwhile, after Boonville scored its only run of the ballgame in the bottom half of the third, SEMO South Sluggers came back and exploded for six more  runs in the fourth.
Emerson Eads took the loss for Boonville by giving up five runs on five hits and two walks in three innings pitched. Eads also struck out four batters.
As for the hitting in the game for Boonville, Cayle John had one single and one RBI while Emerson Eads and Browyn Eubanks added one single each.
