Imhoff’s Appliance left little doubt Monday night in Junior Babe Ruth action at Twillman field in Harley park.
With the first game between A&W and CARSTAR considered a double forfeit, Imhoff’s Appliance wasted little time getting out in front of KWRT in the nightcap by scoring at least two runs in every inning en route to a 17-2 victory.
Imhoff’s Appliance, improving to 3-2 on the season, opened the first inning with four runs in the top half of the first and then sent two runs across in the second to extend the lead to 6-2. Meanwhile, after exploding for seven runs in the third, Imhoff’s Appliance came back and tacked on two runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings of play to win by the mercy rule.
Jamesian McKee picked up the win on the mound for Imhoff’s Appliance while Conner Acton took the loss for KWRT, who dropped to 2-4. McKee pitched the first three innings and struck out six batters while giving up two runs on one hit and six walks. Blake Richardson then came in and pitched one inning in relief and allowed two walks while striking out two batters. Then, to finish the game, Hunter Tarr pitched one inning and struck out one batter.
For KWRT, Acton pitched the first two innings and surrendered 10 runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out two. Spencer Steakley then came in and pitched three innings in relief and issued seven runs on five hits and four walks while striking out six batters.
Imhoff’s Appliance also out-hit KWRT 12-1, with Hayden Tarr going 3-for-5 with three singles and three RBIs. Noah Kee also finished the game with three hits with three singles and two RBIs while Ethan Walker added a single, double and one RBI, Hunter Tarr with two singles, Nash McKenzie with with one double, Jamesian McKee with one single and one RBI and Blake Richardson with one RBI.
For KWRT, Conner Acton went 1-for-2 with one single while Darian Williams drove in one run.
