The Bunceton Dragons dropped a hard-fought game on the road Friday night against the Stover Bulldogs 4-3.
The Dragons, dropping to 4-3 on the season, led Stover 3-2 after 4 1/2 before giving up two runs in the bottom-half of the seventh to suffer the loss.
Rugio was the winning pitcher in the game for Stover while Dillon Alpers took the loss for Bunceton. Hunter Shuffield started teh game for the Dragons and struck out five batters while giving up two runs on four hits and two walks. Alpers then came in and pitched 2/3 inning and allowed two runs on two hits while striking out one batter.
As for the hitting in the game for Stover, Worthley and Thompson each had two hits.
For Bunceton, who out-hit Stover 9-6, Jason Burnett finished the game with two singles. Dakota Rose had one home run and one RBI while Hunter Shuffield added a double, Dylan Flatt and Rylee Knapheide each with one single and one RBI and Brayden Doyle, Layne Maddox and Austin Alpers each with one single.
