The Boonville Lady Pirates soccer team recorded its fifth shutout of the season and seventh straight win by beating the Fulton Hornets 10-0 in NCMC action Monday night at Fulton.
The Lady Pirates, 7-2 overall and 5-0 in league play, led Fulton 8-0 at the half with seven goals coming by seven different scorers. Meanwhile, in the second half, the match was stopped after the 10th goal at the 47 minute mark.
Boonville Lady Pirates soccer coach Kaz James said the girls got another win on the season against Fulton.
“Brooke Coleman stepped up huge for us in the midfield and changed the speed of play as she had two assists and a goal,” James said. “There was not much for Miller (goalkeeper) to do in this game as we dominated.”
Senior Kate Peterson finished the match with three goals to up her season total to 15 on the season. While scoring all three in a seven minute span, Peterson found the back of the net on an unassisted goal at the 21 minute mark and then followed it up four minutes later on an assist by Coleman. Then, for her final goal at the 28 minute mark, Peterson and Coleman hooked up again to make it 5-0.
Of course it was senior Blake Allison, who actually got the ball rolling for Boonville with an unassisted goal at the 2 minute mark. Senior Maddie Weber then followed that with a goal at the 13 minute mark on the assist by Sariana Barbarotta. The assist by Barbarotta was her ninth of the season to lead the team.
Meanwhile, after the three goals by Peterson, Zoe Coffelt picked up her second goal of the season at the 31 minute mark on the assist by MJ Goff to extend the lead to 6-0. Coleman followed that with her second goal of the season unassisted at the 33 minute mark to make it 7-0. Then, after another goal aided by Fulton at the 39 minute mark, Jaden McKee found the back of the net with an unassisted goal at the 41 minute mark to push the lead to 9-0. The goal was McKee’s 11th of the season. Finally at the 47 minute mark to stop play, Barbarotta scored her 10th goal of the season on the assist by Peterson to extend the lead to 10-0.
Boonville also finished the match with 22 shot attempts and 20 shots on goal while goalie Sarah Miller recorded one save on the night.
In the JV match, Boonville defeated Fulton 5-0 to improve to 6-3 on the season,
James said the JV team played a great game and started out strong by keeping a shutout at halftime. “Macey Nowlin got her first goal of the season,” James said. “The defense was strong and held Fulton to only one shot on goal all game. Our attack up top has improved tremendously from our first game.”
Zoe Coffelt opened the game against Fulton with a goal unassisted at the 11 minute mark, followed by a goal by Mille Dorman an assist by Eliza Adams at the 23 minute mark, goal by Adams and assist by Kyla Farris at the 37 minute mark, unassisted goal by Macey Nowlin at the 41 minute mark and an unassisted goal by Dorman at the 43 minute mark.
Boonville’s JV also had 28 shot attempts and 15 shots on goal while Fulton had just one shot attempt and one shot on goal.
