The Ss. Peter & Paul girls volleyball team finished 4-0 to capture first in their own tournament Saturday in Boonville.
The Lady Warriors, who finished the season at 13-1 overall, beat Blackwater in the first match in two straight sets 25-10 and 25-8. Meanwhile, in the second match, Ss. Peter & Paul defeated Tipton by the scores of 25-14 and 25-15.
In the match against Blackwater, Ss. Peter & Paul coach Dina Herzog said it is the first year of volleyball for the Lady Bulldogs so she was able to get some of the younger girls in the game.
“Lillian’s serves were unstoppable,” Herzog said. “We needed to work on communication for our next match.”
Emma West led the Lady Warriors with 11 service points with 10 aces along with two kills.
Lillan Rohrbach finished the match with nine service points with seven aces and one kill while Olivia Eichelberger added eight service points with seven aces, Abby Fuemmeler with six service points with four aces and five assists, Addi Brownfield with three kills, Zoey Lang with one ace and Hailey James with one kill.  
In the match against Tipton, Herzog said the girls played as a team. “Each player contributed,” Herzog said. “Again aggressive serving and on point passing to our setter, who ran the offense and allowed us to gain an early lead and keep it was the diffference. I’m sorry to see it end. This was an attentive bunch who worked hard.”
Rohrbach was the leader for the Lady Warriors with 14 service points with eight aces along with one kill and one assist.
West finished the match with nine service points and six aces along with eight kills while Fuemmeler added 14 assists and three service points, Alyssa Fitzgerald with five service points, Eichelberger with four service points with four aces, Brownfield with five kills and one  service point with one ace and James with one kill.
Tipton finished 2-2 in the tournament while Blackwater was 0-4.
