Cole Meisenheimer and Bailey Quint helped CARSTAR wins in different ways Wednesday night in Junior Babe Ruth action at Twillman field in Harley park.
While Meisenheimer finished the game 2-for-2 with a single, double and two RBIs, Quint picked up the win on the mound by striking out 10 batters in five innings to lead CARSTAR past Imhoff’s Appliance 12-2.
In the nightcap, Central Realty improved to 5-2 on the season by turning back A&W by a score of 5-2.
Central Realty also leads in the JBR standings after Wednesday night’s games at 5-2, followed by KWRT at 4-2, CARSTAR at 4-3, Imhoff’s Appliance at 4-4, A&W at 3-5, Fayette at 2-2 and Medical Arts at 1-5.
Of course there was little doubt between CARSTAR and Imhoff’s Appliance in the first game. Although both teams finished with five hits in the game, the seven-run first inning was just too much to overcome for Imhoff’s Appliance. CARSTAR also plated two runs in each of the second and third innings of play and one again in the fourth.
As for Imhoff’s Appliance, they scored both runs in the bottom-half of the fourth.
In addition to giving up just two runs, Quint also surrendered five hits and five walks for CARSTAR.
Jamesian McKee, meanwhile, took the loss for Imhoff’s Appliance by giving up seven runs on three hits and three walks while striking out two batters in one inning. Nathan Platt pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed five runs on two hits and three walks while striking out five. Then, to finish the game, Colten Collyott pitched 1 2/3 innings and walked one batter while striking out three.
Kealin Vinson and Bo Vinson also singled and drove in one run for CARSTAR while Brock Nowlin added one single.
For Imhoff’s Appliance, Dawson Barnthouse went 2-for-3 with two singles. Nathan Platt had one single and one RBI while Nash McKenzie and Lane West added one single.
In the nightcap, Central Realty jumped out to stay  by pushing across three runs in the first and two again in the fifth to lead A&W 5-0. Meanwhile, after a scoreless sixth, A&W scored its only runs of the ballgame in the bottom-half of the seventh.
Charlie Bronakowski picked up the win on the mound for Central Realty while Peyton Keeran took the loss for A&W. Bronakowski pitched the first-five innings and struck out 12 batters while giving up no runs on four hits and two walks. Aiden Lemmons then came in and pitched one inning in relief and allowed two walks. Then, to finish the game, Carson Campbell pitched one inning and issued two runs on two hits while striking out two batters.
For A&W, Keeran pitched 4 1/3 innings and struck out seven batters while giving up five runs on one hit and eight walks. Andy Neal then came in and pitched 2 2/3 innings in relief and allowed one hit and one walk while striking out one batter.
Bronakowski also had one single and one RBI for Central Realty while Aiden Lemmons added one single and Reese Lang with one RBI.
For A&W, Cale Fox went 3-for-3 with one hit being a double. Peyton Keeran finished the game with one double and two RBIs while DaWan Lomax and Cameron Ray added one single each.
Both Central Realty and A&W also stranded nine runners in the game.
