Lyle Christy, Jackson Shelton and Tallin Kempf combined for a one-hit shutout to lead W-K Auto past C&R Market 8-0 in Midget League action Thursday night at Kemper park.
W-K Auto, improving to 1-1 on the season, opened the game with two runs in the bottom-half of the first and then sent two more runs across in the second and four again in the third for the victory.
Christy picked up the win on the mound for W-K Auto by striking out three batters in one inning. Shelton then came in and pitched one inning in relief and walked three batters while striking out three. Then, to finish the game, Kempf pitched two innings and surrendered one hit and three walks while striking out five.
Josiah Hand took the loss for C&R Market by giving up four runs on 10 walks while striking out six batters. Maddex Jackson then came in and pitched two innings in relief and allowed four runs on 10 walks while striking out four batters.
Kaiden Thacker had the only hit in the game for W-K Auto, being a single.
