The Bunceton Dragons baseball team struggled offensively Thursday night on the road by losing to the Lincoln Cardinals 10-0 in six innings.
While closing out the regular season at 9-10 overall, it’s safe to say this is not how the Dragons wanted to go into districts after managing just one hit and committing four errors.
Nonetheless, the Dragons gave up three runs in the first, two again in the second, one in the fourth and four in the sixth to suffer the loss.
Rylee Knapheide took the loss on the mound for Bunceton by giving up five runs on one hit and three walks while striking out one batter in two innings. Riley Layne then came in and pitched 2 1/3 innings and issued five runs on six hits and one walk while striking out one batter.
Layne Maddex had the only hit in the game for Bunceton, being a single.
Lincoln had seven hits in the ballgame.
