Walmart and Drummond Photography picked up wins in Babe Ruth 8U softball Tuesday night at Lions park.
While Walmart defeated Citizen’s Community Bank 4-1 in the first game, Drummond Photography came back in the nightcap to edge 87 Diner by a score of 7-6.
Walmart, improving to 1-2 on the season, scored all four runs in the first-three innings by plating two in the first and one in each of the second and third innings of play. Citizen’s Community Bank, meanwhile, scored its only run of the ballgame in the bottom-half of the third.
Walmart also out-hit CCB, who dropped to 0-3 on the season, 13-8 with Alicia Felgar going 2-for-2 with a single, double and one RBI.
Katie Pefferman, Lainey Humphrey and Audrianna Sims each had two singles and one RBI. Odette Hutchison also singled twice while Abbie Gann, Elayna Einspahr and Maddy Robertson added one single each.
For CCB, Delaney Rowlett went 2-for-2 with a single and a double. Lizzie Traub and Kinlei Ruffel finished the game with two singles each while Lauren Thompson contributed one single and one RBI and Carly Robb with one single.
In the nightcap, 87 Diner led Drummond Photography 4-2 after one, 5-2 after two and 6-3 after 3 1/2 before giving up four runs in the bottom-half of the fourth to suffer the loss.
Jaden Ronnfeldt led the hitting attack in the game for Drummond Photography, who improved to 3-1, with one single and two doubles.
Lily Gordon finished the game with two singles, one double and one RBI while Hillary James added three singles and one RBI, Charlotte Rohrbach also with three singles, Emma Franklin with two singles and two RBIs and Andi Hein, Harper Lowe and Addison Renfrow each with two singles and one RBI.
For 87 Diner, who dropped to 2-1 on the season, Adelaide Lenz went 3-for-3 with three singles and one RBI. Karrmen Leonard was also 3-for-3 with three singles while Beth Giroux added one single and one double, Isabel Alviso and Destiny Hawkins each with two singles and two RBIs, Cecelia Gaddis with two singles, Dakoda Leonard and Kinsey Biesemeyer each with one single and one RBI and Katie Krumm, Harley Joy and Alexi Thieman with one single each.
