The LSE Lady Pirates eighth grade basketball team won its second game in the Centralia Middle School Tournament Wednesday night by beating Lange by a score of 53-22.

“We controlled the tempo of the game from the beginning by jumping up 29-0 after the first quarter,” Austin said. “We slowed hints down a lot in the second quarter with most of the bench in.  The defense is really coming along as the girls are really starting to play well together.  Our offense looked better tonight as the girls took more open shots.
“Jodie Bass and Sophie Waibel both hit two three-pointers apiece tonight.  Olivia Gholson played very well too as she scored a season high seven points tonight.  This was a whole team effort  and I was very proud of how we finished them off.  Now for the championship game on Friday night against a very good Centralia team.  We will need to come out early again if we hope to beat them. It should be a great challenge for us.”
