Top-seeded Cairo girls and Glasgow boys cruised in the opening round of the 86th annual Glasgow Tournament Monday night.
While the Lady Bearcats beat Slater 53-22, the Glasgow boys led Madison from start to finish for a 73-46 victory.
In other games Monday night, the No. 4 Westran girls defeated fifth-seeded Marceline 41-35 while the fourth-seeded Marceline boys upended No. 5 Cairo 79-55.
Mackenzie Dubbert had 15 points and Allison Keen 10 for the Cairo girls, who led 26-12 at the half and 38-20 after three quarters of play.
Slater was led by Carley Grimes and Rylea Meyer each with five points.
As for the Glasgow boys, they led Madison 33-15 at the half and then outscored the Panthers 40-31 in the second half for the victory.
Hayden Hackman led four players in double figures for Glasgow with 19 points. Kennedy Davis chipped in 14 while Adam Monnig and Kabyl McMillan each had 13.
For Madison, Jimmy Layton tossed in 13 points.
In the third game on Monday, the Marceline girls led Westran 14-12 at the half but was outscored 29-21 in the second half to suffer the loss.
Westran was led by Cory Burton with 15 points while Jacee Brooks had 12 for Marceline.
In the final game, the Marceline boys led Cairo from start to finish while taking a 40-32 lead in to the half. The Tigers also held a 39-23 advantage in the second half.
Mackenzie Fesseler had the game-high for Marceline with 30 points. Desmond Harrison had 23 and Levi Terrell with 15.
For Cairo, Ian Denton had 26 and Jalen Allison with 12.
