The LSE Lady Pirates seventh and eighth grade volleyball team hosted the Mexico Lady Bulldogs and came away with the sweep Tuesday night at the LSE gymnasium.
The LSE Lady Pirates eighth grade team defeated Mexico 25-14 and 25-14 while the seventh grade team won in three 10-25, 25-22 and 15-3.
LSE coach Ashanti Williams said the Lady Pirates went out and got their first win at home. “Not only did we win and bounce back from the loss against Eldon, both teams showed exceptional teamwork, resilience and dedication to what they have been working on in practice,” Williams said. “The seventh grade is taking the right steps to continuing getting better. The eighth grade did things that were geat. Our defense was solid and we blocked well at the net.”
Jodie Bass led the Lady Pirates with seven service points with three aces along with two kills. Sophi Waibel had five service points with three aces along with two kills while Makiya West added three kills and one service point, Daylynn Baker with three service points with one ace and one kill, Hana Cook with one service point and one kill and Alexis Trigg with one dig.
