The Ss. Peter & Paul girls A and B volleyball teams picked up straight set victories on the road Tuesday night against Our Lady of Lourdes.
While the A-team defeated Our Lady of Lourdes 25-22 and 25-15, the B-team also won in two sets by the scores of 25-14 and 25-11.
Ss. Peter & Paul coach Dina Herzog said the girls were off to a slow start in the A-game. “Our Lady of Lourdes had very aggressive serving,” Herzog said. “We stepped up to the challenge and ran an offense. I was really impressed how we played the game correctly. Our transition on and off the net allowed us to pick up balls they tried to score with.”
Taylor Frederick finished the match for Ss. Peter & Paul with seven service points, three of which went for aces, along with five kills and three assists.
Brooke Eichelberger had six service points while Addi Brownfield added five kills and three service points, Jordan Brackman with four service points, Audrey Spears with four assists and Emma West with three service points with two aces.
In the B-team match, Herzog said the girls came out strong and really played well together. “Everyone was on with their serves and that took over the game,” Herzog said.
Lillian Rohrbach finished the match for the B-team with 10 service points with eight aces along with two assists.
Abby Fuemmeler had six service points with three aces while Emma West added six service points with four aces along with two assists and two kills, Zoey Lang with five service points with two aces, Olivia Eichelberger with one assist and one dig and Hailey James with three kills.
The Ss. Peter & Paul volleyball team will compete next in the LSE Volleyball Classic on Saturday.
