Like the opening ceremonies Saturday at the Cal Ripken field, the 2016 season couldn’t have started any better for teams in Minor and Major.
Although the season for both leagues officially began earlier in the week, 12 of the 14 teams still took the field on opening day for over 12 hours of baseball.
In Minor, Schlotzhauer Auto opened the day with a 27-8 win over Boonville Ready Mix while Boonville Daily News doubled up Tint Shop by a score of 12-5. Meanwhile, in the final game, CARSTAR rallied in the final inning to beat Rt. B Cafe by a score of 9-6.
In Major, Central Bank Boone County edged All-American Flooring in a close game by a score of 10-8 while Huebert Fiberboard upended Einspahr Construction by a score of 12-5. Meanwhile, in the final game of the night, QuinlanAgency.com led Browning Hardware from start to finish for a 15-5 victory.

Boonville Ready Mix 8
Schlotzhauer Auto broke a 7-7 tie after two innings by exploding for 20 runs in the top-half of the third to beat Boonville Ready Mix.
Abram Taylor picked up the win on the mound for Schlotzhauer Auto while Isaiah Hauptmann took the loss for Boonville Ready Mix.
Schlotzhauer Auto also out-hit Boonville Ready Mix 9-3, with Tanner Bishop going 3-for-4 with one single, two doubles and six RBIs.
Jaeshua Barber also went 3-for-4 with two singles, one double and three RBIs while Abram Taylor added two singles and two RBIs, Blake Griffin with one single, Bryce Drew, Ezra O’Cacharty and Mason Heard each with two RBIs and Eric Kearns and Edison Baker with one RBI each.
For Boonville Ready Mix, Isaiah Hauptmann went 2-for-3 with a single, double and one RBI while D’Avion Jones added one double and two RBIs, Gage Morris with two RBIs and Gavin Jones, Jefferson Day and Rayden Taylor each with one RBI.

Boonville Daily News scored 10 runs in the first-two innings and never looked back against Tint Shop in Cal Ripken Minor on Saturday.
Ethan Watson picked up the win on the mound for Boonville Daily News while Garrett Hundley took the loss for Tint Shop.
Boonville Daily News also out-hit Tint Shop 8-1, with Dakota Williams and Henry Rohrbach each going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one triple and three RBIs. Ethan Watson also doubled and drove in one run while Luke Poulsen added one single and Tyson White with one RBI.
For Tint Shop, Ben Lutz had the only hit with a single.
CARSTAR 9
Rt. B Cafe 6
CARSTAR rallied from a two-run deficit after four by exploding for five runs in the bottom-half of the fifth to beat Rt. B Cafe 9-6.
Alexander Morris was the winning pitcher in the game for CARSTAR while Dakota Troost took the loss for Rt. B Cafe.
CARSTAR also out-hit Rt. B Cafe 8-2 in the game, with Thomas Elliott going 3-for-3 with three singles and one RBI. Trenton Schoen was 2-for-4 with two singles and one RBI while  Connor Wilmsmeyer added one double, Caden Newell with one single and two runs batted in, Caidyn Hazel with one single and one RBI and Alexander Morris with one RBI.
For Rt. B Cafe, Bentley Turner had both hits with a single, double and three RBIs.

Central Bank Boone County 10
All-American Flooring 8
Central Bank Boone County held off a rally in the final-three innings by All-American Flooring for a 10-8 win Saturday in the first game in Cal Ripken Major.
Central Bank Boone County led All-American Flooring 6-1 after two, 7-4 after three and 10-6 after four before giving up two more runs in the fifth.
Keaton Eads picked up the win on the mound for Central Bank Boone County while Duwan Lomax took the loss for All-American Flooring. Eads pitched the first-three innings and gave up four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four. Lomax, meanwhile, pitched the first-three innings for All-American Flooring and allowed seven runs on three hits and nine walks while striking out four.
Aaron Vossler led the hitting attack for Central Bank Boone County with two singles and one RBI. Gage Allison and Dustyn Taylor each had one single and two RBIs while Drew Vossler, Keaton Eads and Gage Young added one single and one RBI  and Alex McBain with one RBI.
For All-American Flooring, Duwan Lomax went 4-for-4 with one single, two doubles, one triple and two RBIs. Garrison Parkhurst added two singles and two RBIs while Timothy Kee had two singles and one RBI and Jackson Johns with one single.

Huebert Fiberboard led Einspahr Construction from start to finish for a 12-5 win in Cal Ripken Major.
After a scoreless ballgame for the first-two innings, Huebert Fiberboard came back and plated three runs in the top-half of the third and then sent four runs across in the fifth and five again in the sixth. Einspahr Construction, meanwhile, put up one run in the fourth and four again in the fifth.
Jamesian McKee picked up the win on the mound for Huebert Fiberboard while Royce Jeffries took the loss for Einspahr Construction.
McKee pitched 4 1/3 innings and struck out seven batters while giving up one run on four walks. Jeffries, meanwhile, pitched the first-four innings and allowed three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out five.
Huebert Fiberboard also out-hit Einspahr Construction 10-4, with Cameron Poulsen going 4-for-4 with three singles, one double and three RBIs. Cameron Ray was 3-for-5 with three singles and three RBIs while Darian Williams added two singles and two RBIs, Jamesian McKee with one single and Isaac Marriott with one run batted in.
For Einspahr Construction, Royce Jeffries had two singles and one RBI while Travis Dell added one double and Skyler Duncan with one single and one RBI.

Aiden Lemmons went 3-for-3 with a single, two doubles and three RBIs to lead QuinlanAgency.com past Browning Hardware in Cal Ripken Major by a score of 15-5.
QA.com led Browning Hardware 4-3 after one and 6-3 after two before giving up two runs in the top-half of the third. However, in the bottom-half of the third, QA.com broke the game wide open with nine runs in the bottom-half of the third for the victory.
Colby Caton picked up the win on the mound for QA.com while Austin Sandbothe took the loss for Browning Hardware. Caton pitched all three innings and gave up five runs on six hits and one walk while striking out seven. Sandbothe, meanwhile, pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed five runs on two hits and four walks while striking out two.
QA.com also out-hit Browning Hardware 9-6, with Bo Vinson going 1-for-2 with one double and two RBIs. Colby Caton had a single and three runs batted in while Austin Schuster added a single and two RBIs, Dade Christy with one single and one RBI, Connor Acton and Daylen Shelton each with one single and Alex Elliott with one RBI.
For Browning Hardware, Austin Sandbothe went 2-for-2 with a single, home run and four RBIs. Austin Rice also had two hits, both of which went for singles, while Gage Sulltrop added one single and one RBI and Nash McKenzie with one single.
