Thomas Simmons cards meet medalist honors with a score of 41

It was a good night for the Boonville Pirates golf team in more ways than one.
Along with winning their first dual match of the season by beating Moberly 207-222 at Hail Ridge Golf Course in Boonville, sophomore golfer Thomas Simmons was named the meet medalist after firing a 6-over par 41 with two pars and five bogeys during the meet.
Boonville golf coach Rob VanderLinden said it’s always good to get a win in the conference, especially with a young team. “All we try to do is improve each time we get to the course,” VanderLinden said.
Kyle Chrisman finished the meet with a score of 51 with one par and three bogeys while Cole Corbitt carded a score of 56 with two bogeys, Adam Schneringer with a score of 59 with one birdie and Aaron Adams with a score of 63.
For Moberly, Bryson Yowell had the second lowest score of the meet with a 12-over par 47.
After Wednesday’s match on the road against the Mexico Bulldogs, the Boonville Pirates golf team will compete in the Grain Valley Tournament on Monday, April 4th. Then on Thursday, April 7th, Hail Ridge Golf Course will be the site of the Boonville Tournament starting at 9 a.m.
