Boonville freshman Jamie Lemmons has been a pain literally in the side of opponents this season. So while hosting the Hannibal Pirates in NCMC action Monday night at the Windsor gymnasium, Lemmons came out and established her presence early with a team-high nine points after two quarters. Lemmons then followed that up with another 10 in the second half to finish the game with 19 to lead the Lady Pirates past Hannibal 60-24.

“The girls did a great job of getting Hannibal in some tough traps all over the court,” Hunziker said. “We did a good job of anticipating the pass out of the traps tonight. Offensively, we got a lot of great looks tonight by moving the basketball and playing our inside-outside game. We want to focus on finishing out our last three games by playing smart, hard and together which tonight was a great first step.”
While committing a season low six turnovers in the game, the Lady Pirates also outscored Hannibal in all four quarters of play to win by 36.
However the storyline of the game was the defense, which held Hannibal to single digits in all four quarters while forcing 28 turnovers-19 of which came in the first half.
