The Boonville Pirates baseball team finished 2-0 in the Smith-Cotton Jamboree last Wednesday at Liberty Park in Sedalia. The Pirates beat Warsaw 9-1 and Smith-Cotton 12-11. Boonville Pirates baseball coach Fred Smith said the defense was good but offensively the team took too many fastballs for strikes. “We will continue to work on baserunning because I feel that will be a huge asset for us in scoring runs this season,” Smith said.
