Jay Curtis Bell, 60, of Thompson, died Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the University Hospital in Columbia.

Jay’s Life Celebration service will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13 at Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home in Centralia. A Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Jay was born on Feb. 20, 1959, the son of William and Darlene (Sublette) Bell.

Jay loved working in his garden, and was an amazing gardener. He had quite the green thumb and could grow anything from tomatoes to pineapple.

Jay loved fishing, Mizzou football, music and cooking (especially biscuits and gravy). He was an accomplished builder, and did beautiful woodworking.

Jay enjoyed having a good time and was fun to be around.

Jay is survived by his children, Josh Bell of Centralia, Jessica Bell of Columbia and Jake Bell of Centralia; his mother, Darlene Bell of Thompson; brothers, Rodney Bell of Kansas City and Monty Bell of Thompson; sister, Melody Kempker (Wayne) of Thompson; the mother of his children, Robin Bell; and several nephews.

Jay was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, K. Drew and W. Wade Bell; and a brother-in-law, Gary Harper.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Missouri Department of Conservation and may be sent in care of Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home 104 S. Collier St. Centralia, MO 65240.
