A Columbia man who exposed himself to children at a local fast food restaurant in May 2018 has been sentenced to three years in prison.
Gregory Joseph Wolfe, 61, pleaded guilty on June 10 to two counts of sexual misconduct involving a child under 15, a class E felony, and a count first-degree sexual misconduct, a misdemeanor. Following the plea, Circuit Judge Brouck Jacobs sentenced Wolfe three years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. He credited Wolfe for time served, about a year he spent in the Boone County Jail following his arrest.
Wolfe pleaded guilty before Circuit Judge Jodie Asel in March to the same counts, but withdrew the plea during an April sentencing hearing.
Charging documents show on May 5, 2018, Wolfe entered the McDonald’s in the 400 block of Stadium Boulevard on two separate occasions hours apart and in both instances exposed himself to children present in the restaurant.
In the first incident, a mother told police she was there with her two children, ages 2 and 6 years old, when a man later identified as Wolfe exposed his genitals. She told police she moved to another table, but Wolfe also moved in an effort to see the family, and then began touching his genital area. Police said in reports that video surveillance footage corroborated her statements.
Police were called to the restaurant again about 6:44 p.m. that day. A witness in the second incident told police they heard a man speaking with two children in the restaurant’s play area. The witness told police that the man, later identified as Wolfe, asked two 12-year-olds if they had boyfriends. After speaking to them, he began masturbating.
The witness used a cellphone to record a video, which was provided to police.
