MEXICO — A Mexico man intentionally killed a fellow inmate who died Thursday after an assault at the Audrain County Jail, according to court documents.
Ryan Wade Blair, 27, of Mexico said he had specifically targeted Michael Dale Eisenhauer, 42, of rural Centralia, according to a report written by Boone County Detective Matt Vessar. Blair was charged with first-degree murder after assaulting Eisenhauer with repeated punches and kicks to the head. Eisenhauer was transported to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital-Audrain.
Blair has been held at the jail since Dec. 22 on warrants charging him with third-degree assault on a special victim. He has multiple felony convictions in cases dating back to 2008.
Eisenhauer had been in jail since March 7 on warrants charging him with first-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. Audrain County Sheriff’s Department requested Boone County Sheriff’s Department investigate the incident.
