Tyler Schuster, Senior at Boonville High School, was recognized at the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals awards banquet for Missouri Scholars 100. This was the 25th annual presentation of awards to the top 100 students in the state of Missouri. The program, founded in 1995, uses the “Academic Decathlon” to select the recipients. The decathlon guidelines ensure that the student is highly involved in their school through extra-curricular activities, must be an outstanding school citizen, have exemplary attendance, must have an extremely challenging course load with many honors or advanced placement courses in all core subjects in addition to foreign language, must have a 3.75 GPA or better and score at least a 29 on their ACT.
Schuster was one of 34 seniors in the Missouri Scholars 100 who scored a perfect score of 36 on his ACT. This is the third year in a row that Boonville High School has had a student earn this distinguished award. Kyle Chrisman was honored last year and Schuster's sister, Cheyenne, was honored in 2017.
