Manuel Montes-Ivoa, 35, of Mexico, tried to use a fake I.D. to get into the Isle of Capri casino in Boonville, according to the highway patrol.

A citizen of Mexico who is in the U.S. illegally is being held in the Cooper County Jail after authorities say he tried to get into the Isle of Capri casino in Boonville with fraudulent identification.

Manuel Montes-Ivoa, 35, of Mexico, was arrested around 11 p.m. Thursday night on suspicion of using a false I.D. to get into a gambling boat and illegal entry into the U.S., according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol arrest report.

Montes-Ivoa was being held at the Cooper County Jail on Monday on an immigration detainer, but he had not yet been formally charged.
