The Boonslick Senior Center is a non-profit organization that will celebrate their 40 year anniversary in July. Since opening, they have served the needs of countless Cooper County seniors. Providing nutritional meals along with social and wellness services, they help seniors to thrive and remain at home living as independently as possible. The volunteers who deliver homebound meals serve as a lifeline as they check on these folks weekly. Recently they discovered a lady who had fallen in her home and needed assistance. Locked in her home and unable to get up, she desperately needed help. The volunteers reported the situation and followed through until she was taken by ambulance to the hospital for medical care. If you know someone over age 60, who could benefit from the nutrition program or other services, please call the center at 882-2344. The success of their program depends on the generosity of our Cooper County friends and neighbors.
