BOONVILLE – Young Life, an international Christian organization for teenagers, is coming to Boonville and will be holding a free lunch and informational meetings for adults in the community to come see what Young Life is all about. Young Life begins in a community when a group of adults who cares about kids and who know what Young Life has to offer them, come together to make it happen. Local adults and churches are catching the vision for the positive impact Young Life will have on the kids here in the Boonslick area. High school students from all nearby towns are welcome to participate.
The first ever Young Life Club is scheduled for Tuesday February 28 at 7:07 p.m. in the gymnasium of First Baptist Church. The club offers a safe place for fun and a chance for kids to hear a brief word about God’s love for them from one of their leaders. The format offers excitement, heart-pounding adventure and a caring community. An informational meeting for parents will begin at 6:30 pm, and parents and adults are then invited to stay and witness what Club is like.
A free lunch for interested community members will be held Tuesday February 28 at noon, at the First Baptist Church gymnasium. Additional 30 minute meetings will be at 2 p.m. (same location) and at 3:15 p.m. in the Boonville High School Media Center.
Young Life leaders also offer small group Bible studies called “Campaigners” and camp experiences at one of 32 camping properties worldwide. A group of Boonville teens traveled to Michigan for camp in 2016, accompanied by leaders Kacie Richter and Paul Moore who are both teachers at BHS. Plans are underway for camp in Colorado this summer.
