One of the suspects in Saturday night’s armed robbery, high speed chase and manhunt, are in custody. Alonzo Terrell Stevens, of Columbia, has been charged with First Degree Armed Criminal Action, stealing a credit device, unlawful use of weapon and resisting arrest. His bond was set at $150,000 cash or surety.
The incident occurred approximately at 9:30 on Saturday when an armed robbery occurred in the area of Santa Fe Trail and Riviera Drive according to the Boonville Police Department.
According to reports, the victim was threatened with a handgun and property was taken from the victim.
“A Boonville Police Officer located the vehicle and a pursuit occurred. The suspect vehicle failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway at the intersection of Main Street and Poplar Drive and it crashed and disabled the vehicle,” according to the Boonville Police Department. “Suspects ran away from the scene of the accident and a few minutes later with the assistance of a K-9 unit a black male was found in the area between Morningside Drive and Weyland Road hiding in a back yard.”
The investigation is ongoing.
